Flowercomb®: How to fold your floral mesh

Flowercomb®: How to fold your floral mesh

There are different techniques to fold your Flowercomb® depending on your arrangement type and size.

The first in this series helps you fold Flowercomb® to use in a urn vase or wide bowl at home.

Step 1: Prepare your tools

You will need:

A sheet of Flowercomb®

Wire cutters

Vase or chosen vessel

 Gloves (recommended)

Step 2: Cut to Fit

Cut your Flowercomb® approximately twice the size of your vase opening. This gives you room to shape.

In general, Flowercomb® Original can be cut in half for a substantial at home arrangement.

Step 3: Fold and Shape

Take care when using Flowercomb® as the edges can be sharp.  They can be folded in with pliers, if desired.

Fold one corner of Flowercomb® into the middle, as if making a paper boat.  Then fold the next corner down so you have an envelope shape.

Fold the straight end towards the envelope and secure with the ends of Flowercomb®.

Step 4: Create Layers

Once your Flowercomb® has been secured into a nest, you can pull the layers further apart to create more tiers for your stems to pass through and provide stability.

Step 4: Insert Into Vase

Place Flowercomb® into your vase. The mesh should feel secure and springy.

Step 5: Add Water

Fill with fresh water. Flowercomb®'s copper naturally reduces bacteria to keep blooms fresh longer.

Step 6: Arrange Mindfully

Add each stem slowly, letting the Flowercomb® hold your design in place. Take your time – this is a moment of calm.

Step 7: Finished Arrangement

And you’re done. Reusable, sustainable, sculptural floral art — no foam required.
